Гипотеза «один ген — один фермент» — гипотеза о существовании большого класса генов, каждый из которых может контролировать синтез или активность только одного фермента (см. Пигменты окраски глаз Drosophila). Более строго этот постулат изложен в теории «один ген — один полипептид» (см. «Один ген — один полипептид» гипотеза), т. к. один фермент может быть гетерополимером и включать полипептидные цепи, кодируемые разными генами.
